1. What kind of PC do I need?

We recommend your PC has Operation Systems of Windows 2000/XP, or Mac OS X,  but it also depends which Messenger application you would like to use. The best way to approach is to visit the Web sites of Yahoo, MSN and Skype and check the latest information about the PC you have.

2. What Internet connection do I need?
We recommend a broadband connection (ADSL or Fiber Optics) to have a comfortable Internet environment. It is reported that users with dial-up and/or ISDN connection may experience interruption.

3. What messenger application do I install?
All Live-Japanese.com instructors have three messenger applications, which are Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger and Skype.  You can select one of the applications which you think most suitable for you.  And  instructors will  use your preferred application when you have sessions with them.

4. How much are the messenger application?
They are all free of charge and you can download from the below links:
Yahoo Messenger | MSNMessenger | Skype

5. What web cam and headset do I need?
If your computer has a built-in speaker and microphone, you do not need a headset.
If not, you would require a headset to speak to and to listen to your instructors.
In addition, a web cam, although it is optional, would enable you to exchange your images with your instructors. There is no specific requirement for a headset and a web cam.

6. Where can I get the required equipment?
Any electronic and computer shops will have equipment's you would require. However, you would have difficulty finding one in the vicinity of your area if you have recently came over to Japan.  Use Amazon.co.jp as they display goods in English as well.
